Student stabbed in school fight

A Form Three student was stabbed with a kerambit (a small curved knife) by a schoolmate while trying to stop a quarrel on Wednesday.

This caught my eyes. Oh my god, what is happening to our young generation???? What else is NEXT????

I guess the Kementerian Pelajaran has to think of solving this problem.
What is going on nowadays? Is it the parents problem or society?????

Did our parents teach us to fight??? Are our problems solve when we fight?

If you students think you can fight well, then go get train to be a trained fighter/boxer like Mohd Ali.

Since when are we taught not to live in harmony?

Sometimes I wonder, is that what you have been taught during your primary or at home. Do you all understand that you are causing embrassment not only to your family members but to the COUNTRY as well.

Each and everyone of you are representative of the COUNTRY. Time is bad now, its hard to earn a living, parents are having a hard time trying to meet ends why can't we be good and appreciate what is given to us.

Appreciate and listen to our parents as one day we might regret and it will be TOO late.

BELOW IS AN EXTRACT FROM NEWSPAPER AND IT IS MEANT TO UPDATE ANYONE WHO READ THIS BLOG.

SEXPLOITS OF TEENS

Mother, girls or ladies out there. It is an extract from the newspaper. Sometimes I wonder too. Are the parents too busy with work? Or are you just being too westernise?

Please once you have completed your studies you can do many things as you like. But when it is schooling time PLEASE YOUR FUTURE IS IN YOUR HAND.

Shocked by sexploits of teens

WHEN I came across the article “Tudung-clad teens who are hooked on sex” (The Star, Jan 5), I was left shocked, appalled and outraged to read about the adolescent females who unashamedly admitted that they find having sex at a young age fun.

My heart breaks for them, and I cannot help but wonder what drove them to behave in such a way.

Just when I thought sex-saturated culture among teens only happens in Western and so-called advanced societies, I learn that it is now happening in the country.

However, I would like to argue that this problem does not just affect Muslim, tudung-clad girls but also other girls in Malaysia, regardless of skin tone, appearance, ethnicity, socio-economic status, family background or religion.

It could be any girl, be it a straight-A student or even the neighbour’s sweet daughter.

To read about a 15-year-old girl confessing that the terms “pure” and virgin do not exist among her friends, and also having the gall to say “What is wrong if my friends and I want some fun and have sex while we are still young?” is unacceptable and frightening.

These girls think they have grown up enough to indulge in pre-marital sex when in actual fact, they are children who are abused and exploited as sex objects.

Do they not realise that they are being used and they have been robbed of their innocence as well?

Why are they so stupid to think that having teen sex is ‘cool’ by ostracising their peers who are still virgins?

To the girls who stand their ground by not bowing to peer pressure and sex, I salute you for sticking to your principles. Keep it up and ignore those who make fun of you for sticking to your guns.

And to those who think having teen sex makes them ‘cooler’ and more beautiful, they are just too stupid to realise they are actually ruining their own future.

It does not take a rocket scientist to tell us that when a teenaged girl indulges in sex, she is not only vulnerable to sexually transmitted diseases but also to chauvinistic males who could take advantage of her.

If we want to combat the growing issues of promiscuity among adolescents, we should not blame the media and Western celebrities for glorifying the sex-saturated culture. Nor should we blame our Western counterparts for introducing this unacceptable behaviour as well.

Isn’t it time we took a look at ourselves and did something to combat this problem?

We should be the ones to teach our children that they are human beings with dignity and self-respect and not mere sex objects.

Unless we do something right now, our younger generation will become sex-obssessed adults who will only bring downfall to our society.

Gangsters recruiting students with Genting holiday offers

KULAI: Gangsters have been offering holidays to Genting Highlands as perks to lure teenagers from a school here into joining them.

At least seven students from SMK Kulai Besar are believed to have been targeted by the gangs recently.

Deputy Education Minister Dr Wee Ka Siong said the students were approached after they left the school compound.

He said he was stunned to hear the methods employed by the gangs, including the holiday offers.
“The gangsters have also demanded fees of RM2.10 from the students,” he told a press conference after chairing a meeting at the school with parents, teachers and representatives from the police and the state education department.

He said five reports had been lodged at the Kulaijaya police station over the matter. The police have been asked to conduct daily patrols outside the school compound.

He urged parents and students who have been approached by gangs to lodge a report, givinge an assurance that police would ensure the safety of the students.

Kulaijaya OCPD Supt Zulkefly Ahmad said the public could contact Insp Khairi Salleh at 012-964 2462 or the state police hotline at 07-2212 999 if they come across gangster-related activities.

Any parents or students had encounter these problem please voice out.

Let the Ministry/police/school be aware of these.

Put an end to bullying problem in schools

THE report, “Boy: Teacher watched as students beat me up,” (The Star, Sept 12) left me feeling angry and disgusted at how a preventable incident like bullying is swept under the rug.
As a former victim of school yard bullying, my heart goes out to the Form Four kid who went through this ordeal.

I also praise him and his father for coming forward with this matter.

At the same time, I would like to ask where is the justice when those 20 students who beat him up over a trivial matter are allowed to get away with their bad behaviour scot-free.

Unless these students are reprimanded and dealt with, they are likely to do the same thing to another student which may cause severe injury or death.

The teacher who chose not to come to the boy’s aid as well as having the cheek to tell him not to report the matter, is only giving all good teachers a bad name.

A teacher’s role is not only to impart knowledge in the classroom but to uphold good examples by condemning bad behaviour.

This teacher has let the victim down by letting the bullies get away. My question is whether this teacher only cared about defending the school’s reputation or was the teacher a coward who could not stand up to those 20 bullies?

There is no denying that bullying in Malaysian schools have become rampant and this makes parents and caregivers worry about their children’s safety.

All communities, relevant authorities and the Education Ministry must tackle the bullying problem in schools.

Bullying and violence do not deserve any place in a learning environment.

Moreover, we need to get to the root of the problem and find out what drives students to bully another student otherwise they are likely to continue doing this in their adulthood and are likely to end up becoming terrors on our streets like the samsengs and gangsters of today.
